Hannah (she/her/hers) is a second-year from Connecticut with an all but declared biology major and a dream of farming. Hannah joined the Chabad board in the fall of 2016 and is excited to work with such an amazing team over the coming semesters. Remy (she/her/hers) is a first year from the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. She joined the Chabad board in hopes to connect with her Jewish heritage and the Jewish community here at Oberlin. Her current plan is to be a biology major on the pre-med track in hopes of becoming a surgeon. In her free time she likes to draw, work out, and jam out to Rihanna. Sam (he/him/his) is a second year from Dallas, Texas. Sam will probably major in Politics, though he wants to double major in either creative writing or economics. If he can’t double major, he plans on dropping out and starting a carrot farm in central Texas. Sam decided to join Chabad’s leadership because he appreciates the familial community that Chabad offers for Jewish students at Oberlin. Outside of Chabad, Sam is a member of Oberlin College’s open club ultimate Frisbee team, the Flying Horsecows. He also teaches the chess exco and is a member of Oberlin’s competitive chess team. Sarah (she/her/hers) is a sophomore Economics and Sociology double major. She is pursuing minors in Law and Societies and Gender Sexuality and Feminine Studies. Sarah is also a member of the women's basketball and lacrosse teams at Oberlin. She joins the Chabbad board in the fall of 2016 hoping to strengthen the bond between Jewish life on campus and Athletics. Nina (she/her/hers) is a first year, originally from a small suburb outside of San Francisco, CA. Nina joined the Chabad board first semester of her freshman year, in hopes of getting more people involved with Jewish life at Oberlin. She is excited to watch Chabad at Oberlin grow, and is happy to be a part of such a loving and genuine Jewish environment. Julian Hirsch (He/Him/His) is a Freshman from Philadelphia who is planning on double majoring in Classics and Archaeology. He decided to join Chabad board after experiencing the welcoming community which Chabad provides for Jewish students on campus. As a board member, Julian hopes to continue all of the great work that Chabad is doing on campus and hopes that he can help to expand the already thriving community that is Chabad Oberlin. In his free time Julian likes to climb trees, watch sci-fi movies and television, and ponder the depths of Irving Finkel’s beard.
